Our Spanish Immersion program Registration

Our Spanish Immersion program is made up of blocks of weeks. Choose one of the blocks you wish to attend and then register by email. It should be done at least 45 days before the first day of the block of dates chosen (I, II, III, IV, V). We will communicate with you when a group (a minimum of 4 people) is formed and will then hold the reservation for each member of the group. The reservation and cancellation policy is described in the section of this page “Contractual Terms and Conditions”.

Our Spanish Immerson Prices

Prices include full board throughout the stay, including weekends (although during the weekends there are no classes or scheduled activities), 4 hours of class in the mornings, plus 3 hours of activities in the afternoons practicing Spanish. The activities will be mainly tourist visits to cities/towns, mountain routes and beaches. In some cases, we will visit museums. These tickets are also included in the price.

Sometimes we will use public transportation for distances of less than 30 kms. This is not included in the price since there are bonuses depending on the number of trips purchased (20, 30, 40 trips) and for monthly passes. Students will wish to buy different kinds of passes depending on their plans to visit different cities and places on their own. The minimum transport voucher that we will need will be the 20 trip voucher that costs € 42. We can reserve them in advance. The rest of the transportation will be done in private vehicles hired for this purpose with a maximum capacity of 9 people counting the professional driver and the Sherpa. This is the reason, too, that the groups have a maximum of 9 people, in addition to linguistic reasons. During these van trips, use of the mask will be mandatory. When we are outdoors, it will not be mandatory unless the health guidelines change.

The options depend on the availability at the time of registration.

Any activity that you want to do outside the program, such as surf instruction, Jet Skiing, windsurfing, paragliding, etc. is not included in the price; however, we can assist in making reservations for those activities.

Transportation to and from Asturias is also not included in the price. We recommend arranging transportation well in advance, as soon as you have decided to attend our program. As you know, prices are substantially better if booked in advance. In addition, it would also be a good idea, if you plan to take a weekend getaway to the cities easily accessed from Asturias (Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Malaga) or from Santander (Rome, Brussels, London, Venice, Dusseldorf), to make reservations in advance to obtain good prices both for airplane travel and hotels.

Health insurance is also not included in the price. For residents of the European Union, it is necessary to have and carry a valid European Health Card for care in the Healthcare System of Asturias without any payment. We remind you that if you are not carrying the card, the Spanish Health System will charge you the bill, although later it will be reimbursed by the government of your country of origin within the European Union, in keeping with the reciprocal agreement between countries of the European Union. For people outside the European Union, you are required to have private health insurance, which is honored in the European Union.  No additional paperwork is needed. An invoice will be issued and the National Health System of Spain will take care of charging your private insurance.

Accomodation

Both single and double rooms have built-in desks for each student. A private bathroom is included in all rooms. All rooms are exterior and very bright, and have air conditioning and heating. There is free parking for those who want to rent a car for the weekends. The residences are not hotels and, therefore, cleaning and exchange of sheets and towels will only be done biweekly. The residence complex also has a laundry room (payment not included in the price) and use of a gym and high-speed Wi-Fi that is included in the price. If you are staying in a residence, we ask that you take extreme hygiene measures out of respect for your roommate and keep your room neat and clean. If you share a room, you must prove that you are vaccinated against COVID-19.

When a person stays with a family, an individual room is provided. It is the responsibility of the lodger to keep his room tidy and clean.

Breakfasts and dinners will be made in the dining room of the residence or with the family. Meals will be prepared every morning that can be carried in a pack since we will eat at school or on excursions. Any special dietary needs or restrictions (gluten-free, vegan, allergies, etc.) should be communicated in advance. We will provide water, but we ask that you always carry extra water.  Sugary drinks are discouraged.

There is also 24-hour service available. Any type of emergency service such as pharmacies and primary care health services are within walking distance. Also, the central hospital of Asturias (HUCA) ranks 18 out of the almost 700 public and private hospitals that exist in Spain. It is less than 15 minutes away by car and there are taxis available 24 hours a day. Asturias has been characterized throughout the pandemic as one of the regions with the lowest incidences of COVID-19 in Spain.

Arrival

You must arrive the Sunday on which the course begins.  At 9:30 p.m. on the Sunday of arrival, there will be an orientation about the program, and you will be given a map with the location of the school. Classes begin the next day. The school is at a distance of about 15-20 minutes by foot. We hope you will enjoy walking every morning as a part of a healthy lifestyle.
